IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Day 1 in the Masai Mara

You will be picked up from your beach hotel on the coast and depart at 7:30 AM from Mombasa (for guests on the North Coast) or 8:00 AM from Ukunda (for guests on the South Coast) for your flight to the Masai Mara. Fly past Mount Kilimanjaro over spectacular landscapes. Upon arrival at the Masai Mara National Reserve, a driver will be waiting to take you to your camp. Use the time before lunch to explore the extensive camp facilities.

In the afternoon, your first game drive begins. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve, especially during the migration season (July–October) when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and countless zebras move from the Serengeti into the Mara in search of better grazing. Even outside the migration period, wildlife enthusiasts are in for a treat. In the endless savannah, you will encounter small thickets and remnants of the dense forest that once covered almost the entire area. The reserve is known for having the largest lion population in Africa, including black-maned lions. If you want to photograph Africa’s BIG FIVE, this is one of the best places to do so.

Day 2 in the Masai Mara

The whole day is dedicated to wildlife viewing in the Masai Mara, one of Kenya’s richest wildlife conservation areas. There are excellent chances to see the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard). It is equally spectacular to observe large herds of zebras, elegant Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, or powerful buffaloes. You can participate in up to three game drives, take an early morning balloon safari (not included in the price), or visit a Maasai Manyatta to gain insight into the culture of Kenya’s most famous tribe. Whatever you choose, your stay in the Masai Mara will be an unforgettable experience.

Day 3 of your Masai Mara Safari

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for your return flight around 11:00 AM. With the transfer back to your beach hotel, this safari comes to an end.
